1. Define weather. What are the different elements of weather?

Answer: Wheather is the day-to-day or short-term state of the atmosphere at any time. Weather may be hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy. Almost all these weather phenomena occur in the lower part of the atmosphere.

The elements of weather are - temperature, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, moisture, wind speed, wind direction, clouds and sunshine.

2. What is the purpose of recording different elements of weather?

Answer: Recording different elements is important as this helps in recording the various phenomena of weather.

3. Define air pressure. Explain the movement of winds.

Answer: The air exerts pressure on us from all directions; our body also exerts a counter pressure. Therefore, we don't feel it. 
We can define air pressure as the pressure exerted by the weight of a column of air on 1 cm sq area on the Earth's surface.

Answer: Condensation in the atmosphere helps in the formation of water droplets. Water particles take the support of the dust particles to float in the atmosphere. Such water droplets together form clouds.
